I have just fitted this very good quality system, but beware two pionts;
One is that the main-stand stop seems to hold the stand a good 2 inches lower, resulting in violent scraping when cornering at full pelt..
The solution is a little bending and cutting of the stop.
The second problem is a little harder to fix.. The number plate tends to catch fire after a good blast! I know a smaller plate could be fitted, but the last thing I want to do is attact attention to a bike that may be a little on the topside of UK noise regs...
Any advice on this small small problem would be much appreciated.

melting plate.

Hi Alcat dont know if this will help, but I had a no plate made with the std. fig.s. but in 3 rows this leaves the plate narrower but in fact larger than the original , whilst the extra length (3rd row) makes the plate longer, which has the benefit of acting as a mud flap
I don't know the legality of this, but the fuzzzzz cant say its a small plate !
Mike.

You can only have a three row no plate up to about 2002 after that it's an mot fail or possable pull ( what next):confused:

Heat problem

How about cutting a piece of aluminium exactly to the size of the plate, except for the exhaust side, adding maybe 5 - 10mm width. Then bend the extruding part maybe 45 degrees backwards. Then attach this behind the number plate, but lifting the number plate up by using an extra nut between the plate and shield, or a couple of washers.

This way the aluminium should take most of the heat and thus protect the plastic plate...!?

Of course, I'd have to see a picture of how things are aligned before I could vouch for this. :P

I have this same problem with the plate on my full Remus system equipped 1200. The plate wasn't exactly catching fire, just getting scorched!

I know it's a smaller plate but I can say with first hand experience that I'm unlikely to get pulled.

The plate fits neatly behind the TT deflector.

Yes I know that I'm showing the world my registration number - I'll still sleep nights!
