Looking to replace my R1200GS OE exhaust with a de-cat BOS. Anyone know where in the UK I can get hold of one? There doesn't seem to be a UK importer/dealer anymore.

Got mine from Vines but no idea if they still do them.
Just remembrered, it was SLM back then.

They come up on Ebay quite often, new and used, I've seen a few but am saving pennies for the 24k service (£418 that's got to be rape if I've ever seen it!)

Go to an independant then:augie Scoot down the M62 to Adventure Bike Warehouse in Manchester and Jonno will set your bike up much better than any dealer and you would have change you could put towards a nice set of headers :thumb

So, the question is, is it a complete system or just end can on other headers? What headers, if applicable, are they?

And where did you manage to find your system/end can?

As I said, there doesn't seem to be anyone in the UK importing, not even Fowlers any more. They had a falling out, apparently.

A reply from BOS Germany,

Hello Mark,

thanks for your email. At the moment we don´t have a distributor in the UK, but you can order directly by us. We can send to you in the UK.
Which silencer did you want...?

thanks and regards Claudia

BOS Exhaust

For those of you interested, I emailed BOS Germany - [email protected] - and have got a price on a complete system,

.......the price for the full kit is 948,00 Euro and the shipping cost to the UK is 15,00 Euro. The complete system removes the catalyzer, that´s right.

At 1.24 Euro to the Pound, that comes out at £777.00.

........or you can have a set of keihan headers at £335 and get yourself a second hand BOS can. same result, half the price:thumb

I have to say that the BOS end can looks and sounds superb.

Anyone know which headers will fit happily with SW Motech crashbars on a standard 1200?

I have a S/H BOS end can arriving tomorrow.

I take it the BOS wil fit onto the Keihans as, if I remember correctly, the BOS headers are 60mm diameter and without the balance pipe. I am assuming once you get to the mating point for headers and silencer that the exhaust and silencer have similar bores?

On a GSA, the BOS can partly melts the LED indicators. Indicator still works after 9,000m with the can on but on the GSA you'll get lots of little bubbles appearing in the plastic.
It impresses the local kids...

I should have thought so. The Keihans are identical dimensions to the standard headers so as long as they fit them....bingo:thumb

Hi, I have had one fitted with a pair of Remus headers for a few years. Great choice and you'll certainly feel the difference. It drops the fuel consumption to 47ish over a few thousand miles. The noise is mildly annoying though, I MAY be persuaded to part with it as I've recently fitted the OEM can. Let me know if you're interested;-)

I have a full BOS system and SWM bars on an '05 - they fit but very close on the r/h side. After a recent off though the gap is now a bit bigger :D

AFAIK BOS headers are a bigger diameter than the standard pipes (one of the reasons the BOS system is one of the few to actually alter the power characteristics of the bike) but where the silencer fits onto the 2:1 section the daimerter is same as standard. I'll measure mine up against the standard system when I get home tonight and confirm for defo :)

Here we go........................................I was wrong in what I said above.

Measurements for an '05 1200GS

BOS Header OD 55mm
WBM Header OD 45mm

BOS link pipe into silencer OD 60mm
MWB link pipe into silencer OD 54mm

HTH
