Bos Exhaust

Whilst browsing at my BMW dealership on Saturday, i came across a full bos exhaust system for 400 notes, (It was old stock, last they had) as i was looking to change the full system in the next year or so when funds were available, as to get rid of the cat and get some extra power out of the GS. Seemed a really really good price so with my head in the clouds i went and brought it and booked my GS in for friday!!!! Unfortunatly i dont know how good a exhaust they actually are and how they compare with the likes of Remus and Akrapovic which i know more about.
Your comments would be gratefully received, just hope i hav'nt brought a bad apple!!

For a full system you got a bargain and BOS has a great reputation for quality and performance.

Fitted one of their systems to the new bike and well impressed with it although I've not had the chance to try it out in anger as yet.

Many thanks for your opinions, big weight of my mind, sometimes you have to do things on impulse and this time was right move While its in thought might as well get the air filter changed as well......Cant wait to reap the benifits on the road.

+1. Had one since January. Smoother at low revs. Not too loud but with a really meaty sound. sunddenly I'm a hooligan

IIRC if you have a freer flowing air filter as well as the BOS full system then you may need a Techlusion to modify the mixture otherwise too lean with both fitted.

Bos was tested (2006 I think) with a whole list of after market systems in 'MotorRad Abenteuer' and came out on top as far as performance increase.

In the table, from the top, the numbers are:

Weight
HP
Max Torque
Torque at 4500 rpm

The Bos is heavier than most, but delivers the biggest increase in HP (factory system is the leftmost one). Build quality was rated as 'very good'. Looks like you got a bargain!

Cheers again for the info its much appreciated, as im having both sorted Through BMW so they should hopefully tell me if i need anything to modify the mixture. so far they say its going to be straight forward!!!! will have to wait and see.
