An informal group who meet for ride outs throughout the year. With organised rides in the summer. The overall aim to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance.

Rides include a 500 mile ride around the boundary of the area covered by the GNAAS. See site for details

I called in at Graystokes cafe on the hill above Carlton, the owners seem to be connected to the Boundary 500 organisation. A picture on the wall showed a mega breakfast made form 5 normal breakfasts. Its £15.00 some of which is donated to the air ambulance, If you can eat it by yourself its free. The owner told us a few people have managed the main plate but cannot manage all the toast, you are not allowed a drink with it.

The Boundary Challenge has captured my imagination. I have filled my form in and posted it off, now all I have to do is pester my friends to raise a min £50 in sponsorship.
The Boundary 500 is a lap of the area covered by the northern air ambulance and to complete the challenge you need to visit the following check points over 24h.

The marshal points may be visited in a ‘clockwise’ direction or an ‘anticlockwise direction’.
The following order is deemed ‘anti-clockwise’; Lord Stones to Berwickupon-
Tweed, Whitehaven, Barrow-in-Furness, Skipton, Scarborough and
finishing at Lord Stones Café.
The following order is deemed ‘clockwise’; Lord Stones to Scarborough,
Skipton, Barrow-in-Furness, Whitehaven, Berwick-upon-Tweed, and
finishing at Lord Stones Café.
The control points as in previous events will be Morrison’s Superstores.
The rider is required to have their ‘event card’ stamped at each location.
In the event that the control point has closed then enter the mileage of the
vehicle. In all the distance covered will be about 500 miles

May be worth thinking about, Camping is available at Lord Stones on Friday night, I plan to camp again in the Lakes on Saturday and complete a leisurely lap on Sunday. Anybody else fancy the event?
