Following a power cut and subsequent power surge, my B&W Zeppelin expired.

These are not cheap bits of kit, so I called B&W.

No problem, they said. We will courier you a box, put it in and return it to us, via a pre-paid courier. They also sent me an email confirmation.

As good as their word, the next day the pre-paid box arrived. In the Zeppelin went. I then called DHL, who came to pick it up.

Away it went.

The next day I received an email, confirming safe receipt and an advice that it may take up to two weeks for me to have it back; 14 days being their normal turnaround.

Three days later, confirmation that the Zeppelin was on it's way back via courier. All mended.

Got it back, as good as new.... with a letter of apology..... and a brand new full two years' warranty.... all for free.

Very good service.

Do you have much use for a Zeppelin in the Metrolopse then?

61 Farringdon Road, not that far from my 'umble abode.

The same road was the site of London's last true slum, not cleared until the mid-70's.

virtually identical experience when my zeppelin started buzzing.

so, question mark over reliability, but great after sales.

I remember there being a girt great hole there, with a car park at the bottom, when I used to use Faringdon station in the late 1970s. Never spotted the bit about the Zeppelin bombing though. Thought it looked more like WWII damage.

Meanwhile back at the thread, the B&W Zeppelin might not be wholly reliable, but it looks rather smart.

Must be terrible living in a third world country where such things take place. Bound to happen with all that over-crowding, I suppose. Something should be done: contraceptives in the drinking water maybe. Or compulsory euthanasia at 55.
