Hi all, thanks for your help, parts arrived from Sherlocks, spot on service, s/h drive shaft was as new. and I bought a new gaiter for the gearbox end, what a job!!!! previous posts "fiddly" !!!! what! much easier to remove s/a by far, then engage new prop, then slide assembly on, (well that what I have worked out. I have decided to replace the s/a bearings, my only question is, how much pre[/B]-load do you put on the left hand grub scree type pivot bolt,(the one with the lock nut)? can't wait to get the thing back on the road, as I am sure that the failed prop was a ticking bomb, and the tranny will feel better.
At the end of the day, I ve read some right old tosh about beemer failures, you've just got to be realistic, big jap super bike, what would a chain and spock set cost? 140-150? harley toothed belts 180, that's without buying the pulleys!!!! yep it's a keeper!
