boxer cup

hi guys a bit of advice please
i have just bought a randy mamola boxer cup ,and the previous owner has painted the head covers with hammerite,other than that the bike is in fantastic condition .
anyway i need these to be back to carbon fiber look.so can anyone tell me if i strip the hammerite off and get them hydro dipped will the hydro dipp last ,as it will get a bit hot ,also will it last using my pressure washer . i know your not supposed to use a pressure washer but i do sometimes to shift the muck .
or any other thoughts on how i can get them back to carbon fiber look

yeh i did think of that ,but i didnt know if it would stand up to the heat

I would be wondering why the previous owner painted them in the first place. No doubt you have seen what a new genuine pair costs!
I had one repaired by carbon fibre specialist which looked good. The alternative is to buy aftermarket ones, but from experience you will need to adjust them a little for a good fit.

yeh he said he painted one of them as it was scuffed ,no other marks on the bike what so ever ,how and why it was scuffed i dont know .but yes 174 quid for copy replacements .carbon fiber repair specialists that sounds like an idea ,who does this

You could strip them back, buff them as you would any scratches, and re-laquer?

But - since they are mucho-dinero to buy new, and any standstill contact with concrete can scuff or crack them, unless you are determined to retain the full-on look.............. you could always just store them away?

You don't say if you have single or twin-spark heads (the RM model spanned both variants)

I still have a cover in the garage somewhere, not sure what it's like or even what side it is. I even made my own metal sliders that fit on the carbon covers.
There used to be a guy in Spain selling them cheap on eBay, but as said they needed a little adjustment.
