Here we go again! Has any one out there tryed the Hugger from Boxer Design? It looks like it might do the job, and look good too. or dose it flap around on it's mounting and only work in photos? It's priced at about 280 euros painted. I don't know the price in sterling but a stab in the dark puts it at about £160 I'm gussing (am I close?) Unfortunatly I dont know how to add a link the addy is www.boxerdesign.de

Well I'm impressed the link's been added automaticly. I never thought that would happen. Hmm, learn somthing new every day.

To me, that looks less attractive than the Motorrad Concepts hugger. It doesn't look as though it extends as far back either, so it would allow more spray on the rear and sides of the bike. But that's just from me looking at the pics. I'm not sure why it is more expensive than the Motorrad Concepts hugger, either. :nenau

this one?

The fastening point looks better than the MC hugger, which is attached to the rear brake caliper.

From exactly what standpoint/expertise/experience does that comment come....
i.e. do you have personal data to back up that opinion....?

Not a trick question, merely a desire to explore all possibilities..... ;)

I purchased a MC hugger and wasn't particurly pleased with the fitting or the looks. However, if the muck thrown up from the wheel is a major problem to you, I'm sure the looks and fitting aren't going to be an issue.

So....

Do you think that the Boxer design fitting location will improve things bearing in mind the design/shape of their Hugger.....?

Needless to say, Dave's speedy return of his unwanted hugger shortened the waiting list a little........

What do you guys want, function or form..........?

Anyhow, with all this competition about, just makes life sooooooo interesting......

Cheers

(BTW, Dave.....CC is one of us........ :D.......)

Seen it in action............'cos it's mounted on the rear torque arm bolt and one of the brake hose shroud screws atop the torque arm, the more the suspension compresses, the greater the gap becomes between the tyre & hugger.......just when you want it to keep those legs & tootsies dry...........and it's too short on both directions.....and......and......

......but it sure looks pretty..........

AWFUL !

I have a colour coded MC Hugger that was easy to fit, is very secure and IMHO looks the dogs. Oh, and most important, it works. :thumb

I think the Boxer hugger looks shite, too short and I can't think why anyone would want one.

Just my personal opnion though!

I would think that the Boxer design is not likely to be as effective as the MC hugger and I'm sure the service wouldn't be as efficient as MC (which is excellent).

Well, I am not a customer and Dutchman is going to think that I have something against him and his products, but I met last WE with a second unhappy French customer. This time I was able to actually see the hugger in place (black) and I found it ok, until the owner showed me what was wrong.
The plastic was slightly poked and the color was not that uniform everywhere. Also, the owner told me that it was a difficult fit (?) and that he had to bend a few things before getting the thing in place (?)
Well, French customers are usually more difficult than others ; sorry about this...

I'm sure if your friends were to contact us directly, they would receive the same high levels of customer service that we aim to provide all our customers.

It may also interest French customers that we are currently in negotiations with a potential distributor of our products in France which we are confident will further enhance the levels of service we are able to offer.

Cheers

I just wish I could GET a MC hugger/fender set here in the states. Been trying for months. I'm so jealous. Sigh.... :(
