Hi, can anyone inform me if it's possible to source the seals that seal the front brake caliper halves, BMW don't supply them as they say that they shouldn't be split. Bike is a 2001 is a 1150 with 'Brembo' marked calipers, non ABS/servo.
Thanks.

You shouldn't need to replace those unless they've been nipped during reassmbley.
I've separated loads of calipers and never found the need to replace them.

Alternatively you will need to measure the outside diameter, the inside diameter and possibley the thickness (although I think the diameters should be sufficient) and check an engineering suppliers website.

By the way, I think they should be made of Viton, and NOT nitrile.

Thanks for the help, the calipers have never been apart, I renewed the pistons and seals about 18mnths ago and now it's started leaking from the joint where the outside half has a raised area at the top of the caliper, you can see the fluid seep out when you apply the brake. Ta.

In that case give the torx bolts that hold the two halves of the calipers together a further half turn and see if that helps. If not go another quarter turn or check the torque value with the appropriate wrench.

Thankyou both for the info, I will try Powerhouse tomorrow. I've already tried to tighten the joining bolts and they seem tight ehough but will check tomorrow.
