I have seen that Motorworks sell a caliper overhaul kit which includes new pistons. I just wondered if new pistons are usually needed as mine don't look too bad and I had thought about just putting in seals and pins etc.
Just did my rear brake (02 1150GS, 35kmiles). Just put a new pin and clip in. No signs of seal leakage on the pistons. ADV wisdom has a pretty good write up on doing the rear brake. How much do they charge for the full kit? Front or rear, what bike? Rear brake is not as critical for survival in the wilderness, so why change parts when they are not broken.

01 1150GS, 72k mls, one of the fronts has been binding a little, I've tried to free it up but it's not perfect. The kit looks to have cylinders and seals, doesn't show pins and clip.
Just done all mine Think the kits were £35 per caliper, no pins, i bought stainless. Not too big a job but if they are binding recommend you sort it as may cost new discs if they warp !
You may get away with rmoving the pads , make a wooden wedge to put in and ease out the pistons, give them a good clean and they may be fine.
