Planning to service/deep clean the front brakes on my WC. The torque settings for the GS front Brake caliper to slider tube for a 2005 model GS is mentioned as 30 Nm (22 ft-lbs) at (http://www.r1200gs.info/misc/torque.html). Just confirming if anyone has any updated information (before I risk snapping a bolt!) on the WC. :P

Also would you recommend using loctite when I put the screws back on again? (logically yes, but alternate views always helps).

Cheers :beerjug:

Thanks Easyrider5258. I had emailed my dealer as well - NorthOxfordBMW. Got a call from them that the torque setting for the caliper to slider bolts is 38 Nm  Will let you know if I strip the bolt. I may need some :comfort later on.

Aha! The joys of working on your own bike! :P

I would go with the 05 1200 torque setting Loctite not recommended for caliper to fork slider bolts :thumb2
i wouldnt, the toilet has radial calipers so the torque setting is bound to be different to the 05 conventional calipers.

I doubt it will make any difference, but go with 38Nm, the difference would be lost by some owners greasing bolts, some doing up dry :D

:D Just completed cleaning the front brakes and that was a doddle! :D Thank you all for your advice/recommendations. :thumby:
