Brake caliper

Make yourself a clamp from two strips of 3mm x 25mm steel and 50mm M6 bolts. Put a block of wood between the moving pistons and clamp across the third. When you pump the lever the last piston will be pushed out.

With the caliper off the bike you will hopefully be able to remove the easy pistons with a tyre stirrup pump (easy fast pressure). If not, clean the removed piston and its seals. Then swap the clamp to the cleaned piston and use the hydraulics and wood block to shift the next one. Doing that will change the fluid and shift the stuck pistons.

All stripped down, and cleaned, caliper pistons are all fine and free,no corrosion, no leaks that can be seen. Was going to fit new pads but when I checked the wear on them they are not even 25% worn, and have zero contamination of any kind on them so im going to refit them. One question for those in the know......there are I suppose they would be called anti rattle plates that clip onto the brake pads, where would I get new ones ? not that I need this time but maybe next I will because I reckon the little tabs that hold them in place will break off (maybe not) but I want to have as spare just in case. Motorworks don't list them, and they are not on the Real OEM parts list, at least not for my bike. Anyone ??

Hi been looking on internet and e bay for you
No luck so far !

The funny thing is they are not listed on the Real OEM parts list. Nothing wrong with my ones yet but I'm sure the "lugs" that hold them to the pads will probably fall off over time.

I suspect the shims are stainless they never seem to rust.

This might help if you are really in need.

Sent somehow.

Mine don't look like stainless however it may well be that they last a long time, i don't know. I was curious as to why they weren't listed as a spare part though.
