I am in the process of replacing the bolts that hold the brake disks with with s/s ones. Are the old ones held in place with loctite or similar? If so, do I need to heat them up to be able to get them out?

thanks

Did mine last weekend, just a bit of levearge was all that was required

thanks Mic

just realised that I haven't got the right spanner/bit for my socket anyway. Are they (the bolts) then put in place with loctite (seem to recall that I may have done this when changing the front disk on my F650 a few years ago)? Or the exact opposite - coppergrease?!

I changed mine a couple of weeks ago and they were Loctited(?) in place. They came out easily enough though. I used a small amount of Loctite when I put the new ones in - just in case. I used copper grease for all the other SS bolts I put in.

The original brake disc bolts have a Torx 40 head (1150GS, ABS, 2002).
