Yes I have ASC. I've only had it once where the ASC was causing issues (kicking in and out). This lasted for about 2 mins and then the fully faulted and disabled the sensor.

The replacement one is brand new and only installed 2-3 days ago. I don't think the new sensor is the issue.
If I clear the faultcode, it just reappears almost immediately. I'm wondering if I need to just ride it with the fault and see what happens. Perhaps it will reset after a while of seeing readings from the sensor.... (Yes I'm clutching at straws)

I don't think it's the ABS pump, every time I initialise it using the app it works without issue.

If the sensor gap is wrong, just on the edge of it's tolerance. Could this be messing with things?
Just unclear how the gap might be wrong. They are fiddly to fit and it's easy to pinch the o-ring. Equally, it's possible not to screw it home properly?

You would need an oscilloscope to check an ABS sensor output.
I have double checked and it appears to be seated correctly and it's flush.Post #9 from Santa

At this stage I'm wondering:
1. is the connector damaged
2. has the ECU just perm shutdown the connection to that sensor and I need a better scanner (or dealer) to reset it.
(Kind of posting for my own record at this stage)

- Replaced battery
- Checked the voltage on the connector under the seat. There is now no power being delivered through the connector.
- See if I can find a dealer who can plug it in an reset the warning, and see if this fixes things
- Trace the wiring and see if there is a break further up the line somewhere

Pretty poor design to run cables so tight right against the battery.
Not your fault really. I replaced the odyssey battery on my GSA about 3 years ago with a Motobatt. I was surprised at how much bigger the odyssey was. I had to pack out the Motobatt with some foam.
(I only replaced it because it was by this time 13 years old, it hadn't failed)
At least you may have found the problem now.

It's not generally the kind of thing you look for. I have a little bit of rubber shoved in between my battery and the loom to help prevent this but tbh when I've changed the battery I've not checked the loom close up, maybe I should.

Well, I've been at it today and soldered all the joints, heat shrinked, and wrapped in fabric tape. I've used chunky cable ties as an extra layer of protection on the possible pinch points and cut some of the plastic fins off the battery.
One thing which I've been very lucky with was, there is rubbing on the brake line from the rear pedal,, this also runs close to the battery. I've cut the fins off on that side as well and it's now safe.
Just about to road test. Fingers crossed.

update: the wiring is all fixed and the bike is running perfectly. No further errors in the motoscan app which is a relief.
