I have been considering this for some time using the traditional method, but is it important to get the fresh fluid through the ABS system too? Will I require a diagnostic tool for this? And is there a brake bleeder working on vacuum that anyone used that sucks the fluid out through the bleed nipple?

GS911 will allow you to pulse the ABS module valves in an ideal situation. If you don't have access to one, i would bleed in the usual way, and that will probably be fine. I have done both as I have a 911 but I think a proper old school type flush and bleed is good enough in reality.
Maybe taking the bike out and activating the ABS a few times, and bleeding again?

Vacuum breeders are cheap and effective.
What does it say on the reservoir cap?

I have done the normal, basic fluid bleed on all my F series 800 engined bikes without any problems . . . and I have a GS911.
I have "actioned" the ABS via the 911 at some point or other in the bikes presence in my garage, just cos I could (and it proved the pump was working) but never as part of a fluid change.
DOT 4 from a named maker. I really like Castrol stuff as it is very lightly colour when new, which, to my eye, allows me to notice any change in colour earlier.
But thats just me
