Brake Fluid Reservoir replacement.

Hi. After my 2012 GS air-cooled 1200 was in for a minor service at a BMW dealership, it was pointed out that there was an intermittent problem with front brake fluid reservoir and would need replacing sooner than later.
It appears it's not just replacing the reservoir but the hold lever assembly etc (never straight forward or cheap)

The price for the part was quoted with discount, of £251.5 plus VAT, so my question is, does anyone know where I may purchase a genuine BMW part that's less expensive? The dealership did say they would fit it and charging only the labour. They are a good bunch in South Manchester.

What's wrong with it? Can you not buy a Rebuild Kit?

Motorworks new front abs master cylinder £115, non abs £110 plus £11 for the complete reservoir

I wish but it seems parts can't (from the BMW) be purchased separately, it's the hold unit including the brake lever. Thanks, I'll try Motorworks / Motobins

For safety reasons the brake
fluid reservoir should not be
replaced.

Could be either its not available.

Been unto Motorworks, waiting a reply. Yes, the hold unit must be replaced part no 32 72 8 530 056. They may have one if i'm lucky and a little less expensive to boot !

Don't have the part so it's a visit to the dealership, least you know it's genuine and has a warranty !
