Evening all,

Left home this morning on my 16000 mile 1150 GS (with ABS)and the ABS flashing light went out as usual :)but the red warning light beneath it stayed on and refused to go away :( . Tried turning off and on again (classic windows fix) and that didnt fix it either. Left the bike on trickle charge all day - optimate - and still no joy.
Servo appears to be working as it still makes that strange screaming sound when the brakes are applied.

Any ideas - short of a box of matches and some unleaded ?

Cheers,

Rich.

Has the been on it's side recently ?.

Check the brake fluid levels in the servo unit - i don't mean the master cylinder levels, I'm talking about the servo unit .

Thanks so far,

The bike hasnt been on its side, it leads a very sheltered life - how do I check the brake fluid level in the servo ?

The rear light bulb is working on both counts ie lights and brake light - I will check it anyway.

Rich.

Same Problem x 2

I have had this problem twice with my GS-A.
1st time - low fluid level in servo due to brake pad wear
2nd time - tail light globe. Even if the filiment on the brake side of the house is blown, the clever little man under the seat pumps more juice into the tail light filiment to give you a 'working' brake light. You need to put in a new globe to be sure that is or is not the problem.

cheers gregGS

As greggs wrote. Rear light might look fine, but one element may be broken. Computer on bik realises & alters the voltage to the remaining element to suit.

Thanks for the advice.
It would appear that the bike is possessed of some form of intelligence:eek and the rear bulb was in fact defective. First bulb change didnt resolve the issue, second change did - so far :clap

Thanks again,

Rich.
