A few weeks ago at Ainley Top, Huddersfiled, I saw a GS that had an additional brake light built in to the rear indicators. This went off when the indicator went on.

It was very effective at making the brake light stand out.

Anyone know who makes this kit and where it is obtainable from?

I have a set fitted - got them from Nippy Norman - each indicator has strip of red LEDs down the middle and amber ones round the edges. Indicators work as normal, but red LEDs come on with the brake light.

They're available for most models.

I purchased from NN at set of replacement LED rear indicators, with brake lights in then for my F800ST. The indicators are the same as the GS. These replaced the bulb and reflectors of the original indicators.
Yes they were very effective.

He also does them for the 11XX

i made mine, just siliconed 2 high power RED 12v leds into each indicator(off ebay),,,just as good as NN,s and cost 3 quid,(and still have 2 spare as they came in 6,s) been in over 2 year,,,
everyone comments how effective they are
2 leds are enough to light up the lense lovely,,, the indicator out powers the leds , so it dont have to switch off when you indicate,,,
m o t able too,,,,
try it before you spend a fortune

Apologies for my frivolous response, but are they not just another opportunity to add 'bling'? If you're worried about being rear - ended, adapt your riding.

all i can say is everyone says they are noticable more,,anything helps if you get noticed,,, being rear ended isnt usually about your riding,,, its the twat behind you not looking or noticing your lights,,
its a boon if your brake light blows too

Can you remember which ones you bought and did you run earth and live wires back to the rear brake light?

put the leds to the outer edge of the indicator, wires behind the reflector, then, ran the wires back through the tube to underneath the seat if i remember correctly, where the wire was easy to work with item no 290385943983 are similar to mine, you can get em in 3mm or 5 mm,,,
i think UGG did a few pics on this somewhere ,as he copied mine,,

Sorry, cant find anything from UGG whoever that is.

Am I right in saying you have to use resistors in conjunction with the LEDs?

I ride a bike.

I drive a car.

I drive a commercial.

I know which vehicle I don't want to be shunted in.

It may be bling but who cares.

Hi Bumpy

Where in Herts are you?
If you drop me a PM I could arrange to fit something for you with no warranty implied or given:augie
But it's simple to do:rolleyes:

Thanks very much for the offer Neil, but I like a bit of DIY, so when I get all the facts I will have a bash.

I've followed Mr Ks bike and was very impressed when I first saw 3 brake lights fire up...:cool :cool :cool
It's something I've been meaning to do...just not got round to it yet.
