Bike is in for it's 18k service (done a bit over 19K) and I asked them to look at the pads. Dealer (Prestige) just phoned to say they are amazed that the pads still have plenty of life in them, i.e. at least another 6k.

So I take it that sort of mileage is unusual?

Also managed to get 19k out of the T66s. There was still a little life in those, but not much. Anakees on now.

Do you push the bike around

Tyres on mine +- 9k
Back pads 6k
Front pads just replaced but don't know how long they have been in.

Was the T66s scary in the wet or ok for nomal riding people i.e. like myself:)

I thought the T66s were fine, particularly in the wet. I know that seems to be at odds with most opinion on the forum. Would have stuck with them if they were still available.

Freaks, dont know why I hand around with you lot!

:D

Got 12k out of the first front set and they were only really replaced because I wasn't sure they would last another 12k. On the other hand I'm lucky to get 6k out of a set of rears (the curses of riding in London)

Maverick, like BGD I also liked the T66 the Anakees are better apparantly but I can't really see much difference. (white lines)

By the way I ride all year round just like BGD and commute A LOT. Big blast along major road then the last ten miles in town. My front brake pads are now at 32000 miles. I know I can hear you saying that is not possible but it is the case. I wear the rears out a lot quicker.

The engine braking on the bike is as all know very good. With the amount of long blasts I do I don't use the brakes much. The rears wear out quicker as I tend to drag the back brake a lot whilst trickling thru the traffic in Bruxelles. It allows me to keep my feet where they should be (on the pegs) I am changing my Anakee front this week at 17000 miles, (its knackered by the way)

I"ll be fitting whatever is in stock probably Anakee again, but as I have never ridden on Metzelers if thats what they've got thats what I'll take

Front pads

My GS1150 has done 42,000 miles, still on the original front pads which are about half worn- go figure,as the Yanks would say.Had to replace a set of backs at 21,000,second set still going strong.

Hi Mark, welcome to the nuthouse :)

If you look at the line above your name you will see the date and time you posted your reply.

Now check the date on the other posts.

What is normally accepted is for newbies to give a brief intro in the section at the top of the page.

I don't know why but it works better that way. ;)
