Hi all, wondering if any experience with EBC HH sintered brake pads. I just replaced previous pads with the EBC, thinking would be a good option, as the previous (can't remember brand) were soft and wore down quickly. However they feel very "crap" as a technical term, after about 60 miles of riding. Does anyone know if they have a long bedding in period? What pads would the collective recommend as aftermarket?

Many thanks

They've been my first choice of brake pads for many years. I much prefer them to a softer compound and they work fine straight away from fitting.

Are your brake brake discs badly worn, scored or lipped, in which case any new pads would take longer to bed in to the shape of the discs.

I put some on the rear brakes a little while ago, i find they are a good pad - plenty of bite & feel.

I'm hoping they last better than the organic ones which lasted only 6K miles!

There are bogus copies of EBC HH. I've used them as a brand before, but avoid them now. I replaced the EBC's in my Tmax with Polini pads which have better intial bite and more feel.

Worst pads I ever had were a set of Goldfren in a Yamaha R1, like two blocks of balsa wood.

I replaced them with Bendix MRR fast road/tack day compound and although technically "not for road use", they were absolutely phenomenal.

That's worrying, I've just ordered a set for mine as that's what I've used on other bikes for years with excellent results. Only had my 1250 a few weeks but the brakes are very poor, no idea what's in there now but, I'm hoping the EBC HH work as well as they have done for me in the past.

EBC HH are excellent. Had them on my K1600 and now I've just fitted some on my 1250RT and they're much better than OE pads.

And they make a great 'whirring' noise when you brake too....

EBC are a very good pad, I've used them for years, buy from a reputable source or direct from EBC, they have a webshop on their site.

Thanks all, were purchased from a reputable shop, maybe its a disc issue with a longer bed-in. Will give them a day or two more and see!

I would agree bogus ones are around. Had some dodgy ones which were supposedly Ferodo. Just make sure you buy from a trusted supplier and not any old Herbert off eBay 👍

I bought some off motorworks. ferodo pads. 2 months later BMW showed me how they had de laminated ? motorworks apologised and gave me my money back. Now I use Brembo..much happier

Interesting, they were my trusted supplier 😮 not had any issues with them however. Just goes to show how much rubbish is out there these days. You can order direct from EBC I believe, or that certainly was the case., I will look at that now

I like these pads, had no issues even though I generally purchased them from herberts on Ebay 😆 (I must have got lucky). I would have purchased brembo brake pads but the EBC ones are much much cheaper and I havent observed any difference in performance.

Caveat Emptor.

Last set of EBC HH I got for my Tmax scooter (SFA252HH a very common pad that also fits R1/R6/Fazer/Thundercat/Ace with the Sumitomo Blue/Gold spot calipers) were from an Ebay reseller.

Something about the packaging looked slightly awry with printing a bit blurred and the pads didn't come with stainless backing pads as advertised.

I should have sent them straight back, but instead I fitted them and found they had poor bite and feel and just polished themselves up with use against the disks. I deglazed them and they did the same within a few rides.

I swapped them out for a set of Polini pads and had an instant improvement.
