Hello

I need to change the brake pads on my BMW R100GS

Any recommendation? I already used a couple of them and the results change a lot…

thks

My R100GS-Paris Dakar is fitted with a floating cast iron disc and a modified BMW K1100 4-pot caliper, and the resulting brake dust is a nuisance. I don't want to have to polished the front rim every fortnight so have been looking into what can be done.

EBC make dust free (or almost dust free) pads but these are for cars only and not motorbikes. The materials are call EBC GreenStuff which reduces dust by 65 to 70% and RedStuff 2009 which reduces dust by 90%. I have yet to find anyone else selling a dust free brake pad.

Autoglym sell an Acid Free alloy wheel cleaner and a Super Resin Polish, and some American companies sell a type of sealant to be spray over the bare aluminium.

As you probably know, the acidic brake dust etches itself into bare unprotected alloy. I'd be interested to hear of any solutions.

Just use any HH rated pad you can find, EBC are OK , OR Brembo's owads are OK if you can find them. THE Lucas/ TRW pads are reputed to be good too, but I haven't tried them.

Hello

Thanks for your comments
Did anyone tried these ones? (are they for a 1990 R100GS? The photo does not match)
