Rear brake pads now up for renewal any one used arfter market ones ie EBC HH or are OE best

Thanks in advance

Ps take it they are relativly simple to replace as per most bikes

:confused: ::beerjug:

piss of pish to replace - did it in 15 mins on my lunch break t'other day - and i'm no mechanic ;-)

i gather that EBC ones are the best non-OE to go for, but might require a little filing to get them to fit. be careful if you're on a non-ABS GS though, they use a different compound from 'normal' GS pads.... softer, i'd imagine.

EBC HH are the dogs bollocks. They last alot longer than the originals, cost less and are alot kinder to your disks - on top of that they produce less dust and improve the breaking. Make sure that one of the rear pads is thicker than the other, the original HH rear pads were both produced the same thickness so one will not fit without filling, this has now been rectified.

I've used EBC HH with no problems since the OE pads were replaced about 40k miles ago. However, be warned, that the new pads when fitted [without the spring] will rattle on the pin. You can hear this easily when traveling over a bumpy surface slowly.

Just to save you hours looking for the source of the rattle - like someone I know
:rolleyes:

If you have an 02 bike with BMW on the calipers, these are the EVO brakes and the pads don't require a spring fitted to the pad, the anti rattle spring is a separate item and is merely switched over to the new pads.
