Finally put a few hundred miles on my 30th Ann GS1200 this sunny weekend, varied riding, 2 up with the 10 stone wifey, solo pushing it through the Derbyshire Dales
Seem to have come to the conclusion that two up the standard pads are lacking, solo seemed fine but two up they seemed to bite but then not haul me up to my liking.
Could be me but has anybody upgraded the pads EBC HH etc,

Thoughts appreciated

Used them on my 2004 and I can't say I noticed much difference. Though I think the servo helped with the power of the brakes. The fact that they were a lot cheaper than the OE pads was the deciding factor.

GS's and GSA's were out in force yesterday in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, don't think I've seen so many out and about.
I passed someone on a 30th Ed GS just outside Bakewell, wonder if it was you :nenau
Also saw a 30th Ed GSA parked outside the cafe on Calver crossroads. Saw loads of Red GSA's for some reason, or perhaps it was the same one I kept passing

With regards tot he initial question I haven't tried other pads but have noticed a vast difference in stopping power just by the weight of a full tank, so god knows what it's like with a pillion. The bike will still stop you extremely well though, you just have to squeeze the lever quite a bit harder and so it gives you the impression that they're lacking/not up to the job :thumb2

ive changed the pads on my 2010 gs as i like to trailing the rear brake and now and again a quick dap to allow me to get things back in shape on twisty bends, and so the rear brake was utter crap, so i purchased brembo sintered sp/sa pads (these are red) the front is a massive improvement one thinger will haul the bike up, but the rear aint much better so ive now order some carbon lorrain sbk5 pads ..
