Brake reservoir lid - how do I get it off?

I can see two plastic retaining tongues on the front and back of the reservoir. Tried pushing these both in at the same time (awkward) but not sure what to do next. Does the top twist off? I don't want to force it in case I'm doing the wrong thing. Bike is 650 twin - same on 800.

Squeeze the 2 tabs in and then unscrew it, the tabs can be a pain to fully squeeze in so keep this in mind.

I didn't have coat hanger handy so pressed matchsticks into the slot while holding with thumb and forefinger. Thank goodness for the internet!
