Brake warning and rear end drone

Having returned from a quick blast around France and spain I now have a noticeable ticking / beeping coming from a unit on the engine when the brake warning light is flashing when I switch on. As soon as I pull away the sound stops when the warning light goes out and there is no difference in the brakes, what might this be???
Secondly I note that when loaded and doing circa 45-55 mph in 4-5th gear at a steady pace I get a very noticeable drone from the rear end, anyone had similar sounds?

If your bike is a 2010 onwards model, the ticking/beeping could be the servo trying to cycle the exhaust flap/ valve which has seized. Solution is have it replaced, try to un seize it or remove and replace with a straight tube.

Ah that does make sense, its a 2013 bike and just within the warranty so another trip to England. Thank you.

A simple check is to remove the exhaust can and watch the valve: it should cycle through 90 degrees then return to its resting position. The drone from the rear may be a grumbling wheel bearing - not experienced this my self so I'm only speculating, but many threads here detail what to expect and how to check. Alternately it may just be that your rear tyre has worn and is now noisier than it was previously.

Take the panniers off and see if it does it.....

Tyre noise, especially if just a bit squared off will create a distinct drone and reflect to you off the panniers..

They all do that sir...

Wheel side play is easy enough to check for. Then find some twisty roads and get those pegs down to rub the tyre shoulders a bit.
The flap valve can be removed and replaced with a short tube. Loads of threads on the subject
Soaking the old valve (fully immersed) in a tin of diesel for a week or three should free-off the bearings.
