While out for a ride this afternoon, i found my brakes would pack up for no apparent reason. By this i mean the ABS light was flashing quickly, and i had very little residual braking. You could even pull the lever back to the bars and it didn't have much effect.

I stopped, checked the reservoirs, and both are fine for brake fluid. I switched the bike on and off a few times and then the servo's started to work again, and all was fine.

A few miles further down the road, and after a coffee stop, it did it again. i managed to get the servo's back eventually, but by turning off the ABS.

I got home and tried again, and still no joy. Sometimes the ABS light acts as it should when you turn the ignition on, other times it doesn't, which is when the servo's don't work either.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the likely cause is, or at least where i should start to look for the problem??

hello sounds like your battery, not enough juice

Possibly, but the bike has done 300+miles since friday lunchtime, most of which were motorway miles, and it's never once appeared sluggish on the starter, even when cold. I'll find a charger and give it a go anyway....
