Brakes How do they work

Ok there has been a lot of talk about what fits what, But what does it all mean?

Fzr exup k1100 what makes them right?

Picked up a GS1500 Adventure Front Calliper, turned out to be the same as Lilliths 93 para (apart from the ears not being shaved). Not really worth upgrading to my 90 para. As the 93 is still not good.

1/ What formula is used to work out the size of the Master Cylinder piston to the displacement needed to move the calliper pistons efficiently.

2/ Is it worth getting A big disc and moving the calliper to the rear of stanchion (I know there is a conversion to two discs and callipers but why add weight) , welding new ears to except the calliper of choice.

3/ Callipers Must be robust as the bikes are used off road.

4/ I want two finger braking please

Here's a thread I started over at adventurerider some time ago... I ended up spending around $95US and getting very nice two finger braking on my '93 para...... I used a GSXR 4-piston caliper (Nissin) and then a 6-piston Tokico from a Hayabusa... near the end there is some discussion of master cylinder size. I kept the stocker...

theres only a few, mainly 2,, sizes of master cylinders, brakes ?cant go wrong with anything from a big jap!!!some will say brembo , etc, but why pay thousands?pads are just as important, most use ebc, i like carbone lorraine,
id recomend any suzuki 6 pot or any yam R1,enough to stand it on your head

Dunno guv. I went with the std M/C and the HE 320mm disc and four pot caliper as sold by Motoren-Israel http://www.motoren-israel.com/product_info.php?info=p256_R80-100GS-Paralever-Bremskit.html and it did the job AOK to India.

I did have a Bundy tube made up to connect the braided hose to the caliper though as the setup in the link picture looked a bit "iffy"

If you do choose an HE, the guy at HE can offer 3 or 4 grades of pads depending on use.

3/ Callipers Must be robust as the bikes are used off road.

Don't use a Japanese single-sided piston swinging caliper then
