Has anyone else tried Werner2's method of applying a little grease around the outside of the disc retaining bolts - it sounds like it could be the answer.
Mine suffers from terrible squeal from 20mph to standstill, and since I commute across London every day this is beginning to drive me mad! I make more brake noise than most of the buses that I pass.
My dealer (South London Motorcycles) has been helpful - they cleaned the pads and applied copaslip at the 600 mile service but this just seemed to make the problem worse. Then last week they replaced the pads under warranty, but already the problem is back again. So I'm beginning to think the problem is more likely to be with the disc or caliper than with the pads.
It's a real shame because I've got to the stage where I hate riding what is otherwise one of the best bikes I've ever had. I wouldn't put up with this sort of brake squeal on a £90 bicycle, let alone a £9000 motorbike.
So unless anyone's got any other ideas I might well be experimenting with the disc retaining bolts at the weekend...
