i got a brand new starter from motorbines aweek ago for £180 for the lighter veleo one (spelling my be wrong) after i fitted it to my 1993 r100gs and wired up and used it 5times and it started like normle. it had now shorted / burnt out.
the wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter body has melted and the rubber block on the side neaer the bottom is moving to. it also put out loads of smoke when i try to start it one moring. now got to send it back and hope the replacment one i get will be ok.
