Pity I was in the car :blast

I was workin' in Aberdeen this morning. Got cleared by 11:00 so I thought I'd take the scenic run hame via Braemar/Blair/Perth. I had a wee run doon to Banchory via Elrick and Cullerlie. I passed a few drystane dykes wi' the biggest boulders I've ever seen (in a dyke onyway). It was a really braw day and a crackin' run and although it was guid fun in the VRs, I was wishin' I had the bike wi' me...

Until I got to the north side of Glenshee. Heading up to the Cairnwell, it went fae brilliant sunshine intae a snaw blizzard and it was a white oot at the chairlift. Dinnae think the skiers and snaw boarders were complainin' mind you. I was kind o' glad I didnae hae the bike: there was that much salt and grit on the mile or so climb up to the Cairnwell, I reckon my bike would hae been eaten alive by the time I got doon to the foot of the auld Devil's Elbow. Strangley, the snaw stopped and the roads were completely clear once you got over the summit and started the descent.

I was kickin' masel' for no takin' my camera. The snow covered peak o' Lochnagar seen fae the back road aroond Ballater was breathtakin'. It was like an alpine postcard.

The A93 fae Ballater doon tae Blairgowrie is ane o' my favourite roads. It put fifty or so miles on my journey fae headin' north at 07:00 but whit a great drive hame :D

Yer spot on Ron. :thumb2
If you tag on the Lecht at the beginning (or end) then that is my favourite route ever ever ever.

But dinna tell folk.

Just remember THE WEST IS THE BEST :thumb

Pity I wasn't home for that Cuppa Ronnie, (looks like I'm coming in for a meeting in the office on Wednesday now and back out Friday). The nicest part of that Journey I recon is between Aboyne and Braemer, its a great road and the views just stunning.

Glad theres still some snow left for a last ski of the season:augie
