Was planning on coming... now having to work ...... was looking forward to the change in venue :blast

Well seeing as I'm planning to be there on Saturday, I had a word with the Weather Ombudsman. I expressed my concern about us all having to ride in the rain and it looks like he's done the decent thing and changed the weather for us. Good man.

Weather forecast is now good again, changes like the bloody weather so it does.
I am going as it is only a few miles from me.

Really? I thought you lived in the Lincolnshire Wolds?
Aah well, if you're going and Bear's going to be there I'll definitely make the effort.
I'm banking on the hippy being there as well as David Bailey, mind.

Nearby is 38 miles from me.....So just round the corner really, I doi accept it may appear a little more for those who don`t get out much though.:thumb

2 coming from Lindum Colonia but we'll be on the road bikes so no green laning I'm afraid.
See you there about 10 o'clock, Inish'Allah.

Excellent turnout. Good to see a few familiar faces and also some new ones. Hats off to the chap who made his way from Cov..
Thanx for organising it Arkwright.:thumb2

I rode down there with Tinytim (not sure what his real name is :D). Thats the lat time I ride there through Mansfield, what a 'speed camera ridden shithole' of a place . Had a decent breakfast with unlimited toast. Is there an expirey time for the unlimited toast? I may be passing next week and was thinking of nipping in and dropping a few more slices in the toaster :D

I always find when meeting people from forums for the first time they are never as you perceived them to be. Take att for example, I always had him down as a bit of a cnut. Turns out I was wrong, he actually a lot of a cnut :D:D:D

att, it was a pleasure dining with you sir, I now have a totally different outlook on life :thumb2. I will be thinking of you when my cruise ship starts sinking (have I mentioned that I'm going on a cruise?)

Yep - good to see everyone and a decent breakfast to boot!

Is this the new venue going forward?

That all depends on what people think? Mr Nimrod thought the breakfast left a little to be desired................I'm undecided, easily accessible as a venue, easier to get to than Cafe Hockley,

plenty of tea, coffee and toast without extra charge, plenty of room to park, I've got a couple of other places to check out but what does everybody think?

Positives - Unlimited toast, great parking, unlimited toast, plenty of seating, unlimited toast, unlimited coffee, unlimited toast :drool

Negatives - It started to rain.

I enjoyed the breakfast I had but I like the idea of trying a few different places, equally happy to go with the flow.

I th9uoght the brekkie was average, the location was convenient, none of that city centre stuff that makes me nervous.....Just the company could do with a bit of work:thumb:D
At least the people who were serving etc. were game for a laugh and easy going.

You still not got over that deep fried mushroom :P

Happy to try a few different locations and then come to a consensus :thumb2

Sorry, but for me the Breakfast itself was pretty hopeless, (very greasy), and the coffee was very bland too :rob

My take on this is that I'll continue to post up Hockley meets, and I think Duncan should be our 'roving reporter' :D

There are lots of places to meet up at in the East Mids, and I've got a feeling that he's going to find 'em :thumb2
