All organised. A couple of tables reserved for us.
09.30 at Hatton Fields Farm Cottage, Newlands Farm, Hilton, Derby DE65 5GQ coming along the old A50 between Hilton and Hatton, turn north for Church Broughton. Over the main A50 dual carriage way bridge and up the hill, it is on your right maybe 1/2 mile from the bridge over the A50, but before the crest of the hill. Well signed at the gate.

After breakfast I have a ride planned through some of the back lanes to show a bit of the less well known local countryside. NO, I don't have GPS stuff, I don't know how to do all that malarky... it is in my head and will be written as route notes in my tankbag window as an aid-memoire. My sat nav / GPS thing does one postcode at a time, and that is as far as I have got with it.

The back lanes might be gnarly, but fully tarmaced and any road bike will do them, but will be narrow and tight corners in places. One section has hilly hairpins....

They could do with numbers a week ahead of time please folks. Please say if you're coming.

Am I going to be on my lonesome?
I could do with letting the cafe know numbers please, by Wednesday, if we are going to be as busy as the last one.

I would like to have gone to that meet, but sadly are away in Lincoln until Saturday evening ( via train).

Count me in.

Coming up from Northampton, the Far South of the East Midlands!

Looking forward to the rideout too, many thanks for organising this.

Count me and Richard C in for this one.

Hello All,
If not too late, I’ll come along as well please. It will give me a chance to meet some of the inmates doing the green lane run in a few weeks.
Cheers.

Look forward to seeing you all. I have told them to expect about 10. So any last minute decisions can be accommodated without having to ask!

Fuel up before getting to breakfast. The ride is in the sticks, about 60 miles then fuel available in Ashbourne.

Thank you, Rob, for the tea and tabnab.
The ride part was about 60 miles, mostly tricky back lanes, ideal GS and Himalayan territory.

Good to meet folks today.
Many thanks for your efforts Simon.
A ride through some really picturesque villages and scenery.
Thanks for the brew Robert, my turn next. 👍

Simon,

Thank you for arranging a great wander around the Peak District. Amazing, the small villages nestling in the middle of nowhere.

I'm now no longer a ford virgin - your advice was greatly appreciated! I may invest in crash bars for next time, it was a close thing!

Nice to put faces to names although I didn't meet everyone. Perhaps name badges next time (who will be Road Captain? :D)

I think the Himalayan acquitted itself quite well, especially given the loose nut behind the handlebars.....

Cheers for the entertainment and new, very nice venue, Simon
There was a lot, and I mean a lot of the route from newlands that both me and John hadn't done before.
Well done pal. Nice to meet you Rob and the lovely Black-bladerry, I am sorry I forgot yer name
