Hi all.
Wanting to get a few GSer's together to do a breakfast run around Co. Down. Hopefully the turnout will be higher than last week with 4 including me.

This route will not be as demanding or extreme as last week.

The plan is to meet at the 24hr BP station Dromore Rd Banbridge, leaving at 7:00am................yes 7:00am. The route at this stage is possibly Ballynahinch, Downpatrick, Ardglass etc etc to Newcastle for brekkie around
9ish. Then out over Splega back to Banbridge for 12ish.

As before the full route will be confirmed on the morning of the run dependant on numbers turning up and could be completely different from the planned route above.

This run is not weather permitting as I'm going anyway.

So come along .............or you'll never know what you missed:)

Sign up ..........if you dare

be interested if my fecking ahock arrives back at some time. 2 months waiting now.

Hi there

Not much response so far, only 3 positive replies and 1 maybe.
Whats the point in going to the trouble to plan and post routes if no one is interested:mad:

After this outing I dont think I will be bothered to post anymore runs. :blast Ok the early start (7:00am) maybe enough to put you off, but this is the best time of the day to go, less traffic, no Sunday drivers, (except us) no people on their way to church etc etc.

The weather forecast is excellent so get typing and take the pledge to come along:rob

No harm to you Heff but I think your attitude puts people off, I know it does me. The use of the  is not very nice and is used to excess IMO. I understand you are putting a lot of effort into trying to encourage people to join you on a run out but as I said before the time is off putting. Not everyone lives close to Banbridge and that then means an earlier start, could mean leaving home at 6.00 am. for a lot of the guys. You may feel 7.00 am is the best time of the day but that might not suit everybody else.

+1 to that

i think all the Heff is guilty of is trying to introduce some folk to the joys of a nice early morning run. As to the use of the:mad: There have been far worse symbols and words used on this site-its only a little angry face:rob

I'm not denying that, but if the early morning start doesn't suit alot of folk there's no need to spit the dummy out. Also there are a couple of charity runs on Sunday that I'm sure some of the guys are going to.

Heff, I think what your trying to do is great:thumb2

but you might save yourself some upset if you had the numbers first and then went to the bother of working out a route:blast

also worth bearing in mind, although we might like the sweet note our exhausts make, our Sunday morning sleeping neighbours might not:rob

I'll will post a few more potential runs with a later start time and suggested routes in the near future to judge interest, before giving up hope........

In relation to the last 2 posted runs, I have only used Banbridge as a starting point for the 7;00am runs as the BP is the only 24hr petrol station in the area, should anyone who turns up need fuel.

In relation to  I was not aware this icon would cause offence to reflect a poor attidude, which was certainly not my intention. What is meant by 'to excess IMO'?

I was not aware that there was a posting etiquette and I thought the icons are there to induce humour, not attitude.

I know not every run will suit everyone for whatever reason. Its like a vicious circle, all I am trying to do is encourage a few riders to get together:nenau

Inviting others out for a run is always a good thing to do Heff. :thumb2

Personally speaking, early morning runs don't suit me at all. Unless I'm heading away somewhere (for a ferry etc) I like to give the Jim Beam a chance to wear off. :) I suspect that that might be the case for others too.

Being a fan of smaller roads and boreens the traffic later in the day isn't really an issue for me anyway to be honest which leaves me even less inclined to start out so early. But that's just me.

It will be the 8th of June before I see my bike again as she starts her journey to San Francisco tomorrow, just as the weather here has taken a turn for the better.

Enjoy your run in the morning. :thumb2

Another excellent run. Started Banbridge went cross country to Finnis, up over Slieve Croob, around the back towards Spa, through Ballnahinch, Saintfield, Killyleagh, some wee roads along Strangford lough, Strangford village and hugged the coast to Newcastle, arriving at 9.30 for brekkie. From Newcastle we went to Bryansford, and cross country via more wee roads to Ballyward then back to Banbridge-120 miles of sheer bliss and very few cars.

Our run last week took us through Gilford, Tandragee, Markethill, Newtownhamilton, wee roads down to Crossmaglen and Creggan, Silverbridge, Mullaghbawn, Camlough,Newry,Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Kilkeel, Newcastle and back to Banbridge via Slieve Croob.

Good to see you again Sparky

Looking forward to the next one:bounce1
