I couldn't find enough rooms for my group at some first choices in the Bavarian Alps so we decided to head to Austria and landed in Bregenz. Super ride from Kempten around Namloos, Lermoos, Hahntenjoch and through Egg in Voralberg.
The ubiquitous Ibis (red flavour) had garage parking and a bar. It was close to all of the city centre amenities and I would happily use it again. Bregenz was lovely and after a damp early morning, I enjoyed a day off the bike taking the cable car up the mountain where the clouds disappeared to give great views across various Alps.
