The roads were icy and a guid layer of salt some big splodges where the gritters stopped but I just road over these and never thought for a minute that I could fall off or slide on one..

The sun was in my eyes but I never complained to the council about that either.
Some big potholes out there but I managed to ride round these using forward vision and glad I read some of the BMW club ride reports.

I stopped at Shiel bridge and went off the road into the dirt track and ventured on to the ancient bridge without a high viz jacket.

Nearer bridge of Cally I found that a tractor had gone onto the verge and when returning back onto the ashphalt it left some big clumps of mud, thank goodness I was on a rufty tufty GS.
On the way home a sparrow nearly made contact with my visor and I had to stop to take in what could have been a catastrophe for myself and the sparrow.
I continued on the long and lonesome road back to Skye.

If anyone would like to sponsor fuel or brake pads for my next adventure pm me

I have to copyright them and then if you donate to my account at The Stein I'll email you one that you can download and frame for your bathroom wall :jager

And the roads were nice and clear 10 miles north of the B of C, being a rufty tufty hard core "biker" I kept the heating at the same level all the way up to the Glenshee ski school:

For the sake of the sparrow I will sponsor something towards your brake pads. Will a small blob of copaslip help to stop the pads from squeeling; that way ye might get the wee bastard the next time.:thumb2

sounds like the real hardcore stuff there !!!!!!!!

Now if you'd asked for some donations to help you continue your current holiday that would have been different, I would feel really good about helping you carry on the dream (round Scotland) but to ask for donations for just more adventure and yet another different trip, that really is taking the piss :(

I'd be interested to hear your opinion on whether you'd have preferred to be on the KTM with it's 21" front wheel?

Also which tyres were you using and did you lower the pressures for the muddy section?

This Ride Report harks back to the good ol' days of ukGSer :clap

I'm gonna vote it in at 5 stars and would encourage all other GSers to do the same :thumb2

I would have, but the clutch went on it the day i went in to see me mate about it.

Mate couldn't be arsed to fix it, i certainly didn't have the time or gear to do it...so he sold it as a non runner.

It passes me every day now, it was the selector fork that needed replacing (£15)........:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast:blast
