Hi all, 4 weeks in on Bridgestone A40, thought I would give them ago, big mistake louder (front end noise) than Anakee 3.:blast

Anybody had the same?

I went from the Anakee 3 to the A40. Thought the A40 quieter than the 3s. Now have A41s on.

Just for interest, my front A40 wore very strangely, with the right side worn alot more than the center or left side.

Had the 41s on for about 600km now, and so far......so good.

i tried them, not for me, in the Heat i found them sliding all over, also getting them on took 2 Tyre fitters, very tight on the rim

Not sure what's up with those howling tyres... Just had a new set of Annakee 3 fitted on my bike to replace the factory installed set I got with my 2018 Rallye(Also Annakee 3's) and oddly enough, the new set is WAY louder than the previous...

I was getting some front end whine from the last one but it was not as pronounced and didn't start right away... The new has been loud from the get go and the level is higher too...

Any way to mitigate or dampen(other than ear plugs)? Is it related to the weights position or number? I was under the impression it was a combination of tyre profile and rubber quality but it's really difficult for me to understand why it's so different this time around.

My A40's have done 9800 miles in all weathers and 2 up + boxes / solo. Very happy with them. Now on A41's ; no louder than previous 40's although I too wear ear p!ugs. Very good in wet.

Just out of interest, why did you replace with Anakee 3,s again do you like them or was there a problem with the others, yes they are a tad noisy as many say, but it is a decent tyre.

Roadtec01’s...... not as noisy as Annakee3’s IMHO....and better turn in as far as I’m concerned.
Why stay with Annakee3’s?

I replaced them because they were toast :-) Front was past legal limit, rear could have some more clicks but I prefer changing my tires together. I was not really bothered by the moderate howling of my previous set, and was rather happy with the handling. In all honesty, I really wanted to fit Road 5 Trail, but they are not yet available in GS sizes, and I have a big trip coming so I could not delay.

I lean toward Michelin as my experience with Metzeler is somewhat complicated... On my RS, I had 2 Metzeler 01 rear punctured in less than a year, the only 2 punctures in 12 years of biking, 20 if you account for my shady scooter-rider past... I know it may just be bad luck but one thing I gathered since I dwell on biker forums, is that tire preferences is heavily biased by superstition and gut feelings :-)
