Bringing Dogs to Ireland for a Holiday

Not been in this section before. Hope you don't mind what might seem like a daft question ... but

we are bringing our camper over to FINALLY go see the west coast of the Republic of Ireland (been with my irishman for 21 years and only JUST coming to somewhere other than Dublin to visit ) and we are bringing our dog. Do we need to have a passport for him from the Isle of Man ... IYKWIM?

I think I am right in thinking we have to if going to Europe (ie France) but not sure when going to Ireland from here. We don't need to for the UK ...
