seeing the thread about Brisk plugs. reminded me I recently bought a pair of Brisks for my 1150 gs after being told that they would make it far better. on instalation the bike coghed and spluttered a bit then seemed ok about 20 miles later it started with serious misfiring especially when pulling away even stalling. changed the plugs back and its fine. the bike has Y piece and Remus can also K+N filter fitted. any advice? is there somthing wrong or should i just avoid expensive plugs?

Hi mate, my bikes fitted with the same mods yours has. My Brisk plugs have been fine up to 4,000 miles and then the tick over started getting rough. I replaced the original plugs just to make sure it wasn't the throttle bodies and the tickover has returned to normal. I rode down to the N.E.C and back with the wife on the back and I couldn't tell any difference between the Brisk plugs and the OE plugs. While I was at the bike show I bought a pair of iridium plugs which NGK are saying are the best thing since sliced bread (and at 15 quid they should be). I'll let you know what I think of them when I've covered a couple of hundred miles. As for the life span, being made from iridium they should last longer than the OE plugs but I'll have to get back to you next year about that.

Cheers Daz.
