Packed today and the forecast is good for tomorrow. Good excuse for a ride out to Helmsley etc.

Thanks 👍🏻
Both fork seals started leaking on Saturday despite being serviced the week before so the front end was a bit lively.
Only his second race but his trials and downhill MTB experience showed. He came second a few weeks ago at the very wet Driffield round so he’s looking forward to the next one at Leighton Hall in a couple of weeks.
Well done to your lad, a great achievement 👏

Leighton Hall Carnforth this weekend if anyone is passing. Weather looks good.

Well that was a tough one.
Took a heavy fall on lap 2 which bent the rear brake lever into the casing so it was stuck on. He managed to bash it with a rock to free it off but couldn’t use the brake for the rest of the lap. Got back to the pits and we bent it into a useable shape but he’d lost 15 minutes by then. Dug in and finished 4th just 20 seconds off the podium. He took a dig in the ribs off his bar end and will pop him to A&E this afternoon as his hand is swollen and painful but that’s all part of it I guess.
Exhaust will pop out with our Hydraforce machine but it won’t be pretty !

Is the NREC still a thing Wassy? I used to do a few enduros with them on Ropner land and at Driffield some years ago.

Not something I’ve heard of but we are pretty new to it all tbh. We like the Edge off-road events as the organisation is pretty slick. From what I can gather Sonya Jarvis who runs it is the ex wife Wayne Braybrook who runs the British extreme championship and there’s a bit of rivalry there. The only other event we’ve done play days with is Dirtbike action run by John Kerwin but again this is the more extreme type of event.
Pea farm MX do some good play days in the Stanley / Consett area just turn up and pay on the day.

Back to Spaunton on Sunday for round four.
Steady start and built up a two minute lead when he pitted for fuel on lap four but blew a fork seal resulting in no front damping and the front brake pads getting covered in oil so he had to ease the pace.
Not happy but he brought it home in second place.
Never used a Plews tyre before but it worked well and seems to have held up wear wise.
Still leading the championship but it’s getting tight.
