Thanks to the commentry team who have followed in the long tradition of British sports commenters claim the Irish sports persons when they are doing well. But today took the biscuit...

They were constantly talking about how delighted they were that there were two British guys on the front of the grid, despite every time check showing the Irish Tricolour beside his name. They did refer to his being from Northern Ireland on occasions.

Then he took the podium......... THe Irish Flag was centre stage and one of the guys made a strange sound...astonishment perhaps.........and then at end of Irish National Anthem, they discussed how they were taken totally by surprise as they expected God Save the Queen..........

I am so glad that they can always be relied on not to to get that one right.

When our very own Jeremy Mc Williams was racing, the commentators were callin him a Brit when he was doing the winning....and an Irishman, or an Ulsterman, when he was doing the crashing............


and before everybody says........"Oh aye....and he did plenty of crashing".....................



so did plenty of the others guys.............
