If you are sailing Portsmouth-St Malo on BF, here’s a top tip.

Don’t bother booking a Club cabin. These are outside 2 berth cabins but the only difference between a Club cabin and the considerably cheaper 4 berth outside cabin, is, err, the 4 berth has 4 bunks and the 2 berth has 2 bunks. Same size, same window. On our crossing the Club was about £50 more. I suppose the Club does have tea and coffee in the the room but not 50 quids worth.

Same on Portsmouth to Santander. Got a look in one when we docked and it was exactly the same as our 4 birth that we had.

Other bonus of the 4 birth if there’s 2 of you is you can grab the extra pillows from the top bunks and actually have some neck support when you sleep!
