My broadband is with an AOL/BT modem thingy. It was working fine.

I've moved the computer to a different room and connected the wires in exactly the same way as before, only now I can only have either the phone OR internet connection.
The internet connection is through the DSL () modem.

So whats happening?? :spitfire

And have you still got a diffuser in the main phone socket as well as the extension?

Who fitted the phone socket in the other room, BT or bodger?

Er the second it was me :D

The phone line for the modem is an extension which I took apart to get the end off and pull it back the the hole in the ceiling. so I'm using the same extension now after I jammed the two pairs of wire back

All phones or other equipment must pass through a filter, splitter.

Make sure that the ADSL signal is only passing through one Filter / Splitter.

It can be the same Filter / Splitter for all of the phones.

Hope this helps

Thanks Kev, I had connected the 'pre broadband' connection as well as the new wires to the modem :o :o . Feckin wires everywhere. It's working now :thumb

Cheers Tim
