Chaps,

in replacing my handle bars i may have been a little over enthusiastic when prying the cast clamp open a little to slide off the bars.:blast

My question is this - does the cast clamp come as a complete unit with the master cylinder - if so how much are they likely to be?

Can cast metal be welded/repaired or would loads of araldite hold everything in place?

any help as always is appreciated! :comfort

I'm afraid I can't answer the first two questions (I have an 1100 - cable clutch) - a call to Motorworks or Sherlocks would probably help you.

However I can say that Araldite isn't an appropriate repair and it's very unlikely that a weld (assuming it can be welded at all) would be strong enough on a casting like that.

Brace yourself for having to buy a used mastercylinder :( - Motorworks sell them for £64 - you may get lucky with a wanted ad on here.

Damn - if I knew how much you needed it i'd have charged you more :thumb
