the indicator switch broke on my g/s today. It seams like its lost its pivot point. Is this sort of thing repairable? When it took it off it looks pretty much sealed - i didn't want to prise it apart for fear of breaking the other functions.

Pete,
Give Phil at Cambridge Motorcycles a quick call on 01223 360176. he had a second hand set of LH switchgear that could be canibalised for spares when I was there last Sat.

thanks he has - so I should be on the way - cheers :thumb

I've got one off an '81 build that I replaced last weekend, the dip switch lever was broken. BMW have replaced them with a slightly later type that has a different dip switch mechanism, I'm not sure if the indicator is the same, I didn't check, but there are a variety of cable lengths to suit the bar height.

Are you sorted pete?

Hi - had to resort to buying a new one from James Sherlock. I guess they aren't repairable. I phoned around a whole load of places but they didn't have any used ones... which I guess is an indicator that they fail and so are in short supply. The good news is my new one should last for 30 years and 100,000 miles like the old one ..!

Gary Burton has some without the writing on them!
