I have seen a few of these Airhead side panels with the mounting lugs broke :bow
I repaired mine with these aluminium pieces I machined and then attached with a small screw
They have been working perfectly for years now
Here are some pics of how they work
Far cheaper than getting another panel and tidy too :thumby:

These definitely work - I have one of Garys old bikes (G/S) and noticed this was done (but didnt know it was his mod) works perfectly :thumb2

You could glue them on but I drill a small hole in them and use a small screw to secure them
Better than new
I made these a while ago but if there was enough interest I could make a small batch up :thumby:

If you get sufficient interest to do a batch, it'd probably be worthwhile just getting a load of them laser cut.

lugs

<< interested if you get some made

If you have a drawing / specification you can send it to me. PM me for my e mail address.

My next door neighbour owns/runs a laser cutting business.

He has made small items up for me before at very reasonable cost, fitting it in with other paying customer jobs.

Small items like these can be cut out of the waste of larger jobs.

I have a small CNC mill so I can make some up on that to start with
I will refine the design and get a small batch made up :thumby:

Design refined and half a dozen made up :thumby:
These are for the G/S...They don't fit the later GS's
I don't think the later bike ones break so easy cuz they are a lot thicker
Price is £4 each or 3 for £10 + £1 postage
PM me if you would like some :thumby:

No problem sending them to Oz
Have emailed you :beerjug:
If people want to email me about these it's GAZatXLN.CO.UK :thumby:

Do you reckon these will fit a R80 ST? I'm thinking they might. If so, I'll check how many of mine are broken. I'll be after at least a couple.
Cheers, Jon

Good chance they will fit ......But they are fairly adaptable with a bit of thought
If they don't fit inbetween the luges you can fit them on as per this pic :thumb
