Having just done new broadband/line rental deal they have sent me a Home hub 3 does anyone know if they are any good currantly running a Belkin F50088 with no problems is it worth changing or keep it as a spare?
I have a 'Home Hub' which works perfectly. I don't know if it's better or worse than anything else, as I have never had any other wireless set up. I've always thought that the BT broadband setup was expensive....compared to SKY etc, but it just works, which is worth a lot in my world.
I'm getting VERY angry with my BT home hub and have had a couple of long phone calls with some distant !!!!!!!!! helpdesk. My early model hub keeps losing the wireless link with both my laptop and my iPhone for no reason. Re-start. Re-start. Re-start. GRRRRRRRRRRR!
Works perfectly with a cable connection - which Helpdesk man 1 asked me to connect but I didn't have one available at the time.
Here I am right now in a holiday cottage in the countryside and the wi-fi is working perfectly and I have no idea what system I'm on.

Same here - went from a belkin to home hub about 3 years ago and never had any major probs. I think I've had to reset it about three times in that period.
Like Jonnie says - it just works - and thats often with me on here - the missus watching movies and the ankle biter playing internet games all at once.

Me too! Had enough of endless disappearance of wi-fi signal and hit the roof on Twitter. Car magazine editor I know replied to my tweet and copied in BT's head of customer relations, and next thing I get a msg from their executive complaints office.
Lo and Behold a new hub arrives and we're now getting weekly phone calls telling us when the local exchange is going to be upgraded.
Which is all well and good, and very nice, but of course not what you'd call "normal" service.
when the bt man up the street (very handy) set my home hub up he recommended to switch it off at least once a week apparently it helps the unit to do its updates had it going for 5 months no problems here got a good deal cheaper than virgin for stand alone broadband
I've had BT home hubs - 2 versions over 5 years, never had a problem, left on all the time.
Bear in mind when you sign up with BT you are accepting a one off yearly contract, this will then continually roll.
Ring them up after one year, ask them nicely if your contract has expired, they will then ask you if you wish to re-sign on a cheaper rate, or go up to the next usage band and keep the same price - if you dont ask...........youll always pay the same.
