BT Mail Server TImeout

I use Windows Live Mail 2012 on a Windows 8.1 laptop to access IMAP mail from BT Internet (BTYahoo). It was working fine until recently.....

Now I keep (every 5 minutes) getting 3 identical warning messages saying "Your IMAP Server has not responded in 300 seconds. Would you like to wait another 300 seconds for the server to respond?".

Google is not much help. My Server Timeout setting is at the longest available (5 minutes). I've emptied my Spam via webmail.

Please can anyone help?

Sounds like your settings aren't right, a firewall issue or the server is screwed. Have you done any windows updates lately? Changed your password?

Alternatively drag your self into the modern age and use a browser interface.
 
Me - modern - I'm old! I went IMAP so I was modern (yes I know web is best etc.).

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't see any settings that I can change that would affect this, firewall is a possibility and BT Server problems might affect more than just me.

Sorted - thanks for the advice. I turned off the Antispam in my Bitdefender security software and no longer get the error messages.

Since BT seems to filter most spam I'm happy to deal with the odd one that gets through!
