Ihave a 1200 GSA. 5'11 tall but with short legs long body, so I guess i am more like 6' or just over as far as head height in relation to screen.

I have read that tossers with standard GS's fit the Adv. screen and the buffeting is gone! well not for me it hasn't.

Any tips?

By the way I am thinking of angling the screen back to reduce disturbance behind the screen but in front of me but the trade off might be more blast at helmet height. Then trying it in its most upright posistion.

With luck someone will come up with the gem needed as right now i wonder how there can be such positive results posted with just the standard screen!

finallyt i would appreciate thoughts about top screens eg TT or the Laminar lip things.

Thanks,

I've fitted an adventure screen to the 1200 SE I've recently bought... and it is a big improvement on the standard screen, and I found that the setting half way up is about right....

Winglets seem to help as well....

Bear in mind the GS in any form is far from aerodynamic and it will never be as calm as behind a proper screen on a tourer ;)

My GS with Givi Airflow and Winglets is a million miles better than a bog standard 1300 GT I test rode the other day

TT top screen mount works for me. 6' with 29'' inseam. 100mph with visor up no problem. A real pain without it. If you ever get over to nr. Sandy in Beds your quite welcome to give it a go up the road. :thumb

have fitted adventure screen and winglets to 2010 gs and buffetting has gone but still lots of wind noise. tried decent earplugs and it was a revelation - near silent comfort at 90mph. found that withthe screen fully upright some turbulence behind the screen could develop but with screen half down zero tubulence and still very quiet. it a bit like an out of body experience driving down the mway but still fantastic comfort for distance riding. the TT screen wing might help or how about tobinators from Nippy Norman.

5foot 10 , 30inch leg, low seat position.

good luck :thumb

I'm the same size as you and find the seat more comfortable with the front on high :thumb Same set up with the screen, and good foam earplugs... I really couldn't cope with the din without plugs in ;)

Helmet !!

Simpson Super Bandit...no buffeting.

Caberg Justissimo, excessive buffeting.

Same bike, same person , same screen...:nenau

Hypothesis: Vortex shedding off the screen effects different types ( shapes)of helmets....

SCREEN

givis large screen and set of winglets by far the best conbination for me,last week i test rode a k1300gt if thats the best that bmw can do in terms of comfort ie turbulance then its pretty poor for £15000...i will be keeping my gs
