Oh well, I suppose it has to happen sometime. After 8 years of ownership without problems, I had to push her home. Just finished a monster rebuild and things were going so well. No electrics! I'm thinking it's stopped charging as I noticed the indicators started to blink faster and the tachometer didn't match the engine speed. Just managed to get off the autobahn and with 2 k to go........still needed the exercise!

Ignition on, no charge light. Better start looking. No charge at the terminals, but no surprise there if there's no charge light.

Problem solved. It was the nut that holds the handlebars. I've had a word with myself....all is well.

Wasn't it earthed properly.

Well dr nosh, I am indeed a twat. After building the engine and fitting it, I had a bout of "press-on itis". I left a connector off and even better, I had taped it under the frame tube to keep it out of the way. Using black tape was a real help as well. Felt a right Rodney when I saw the plug between the tubes. Goes like a train now. I've seen an r100cs up the road just begging to be the next project. Need to sell my Triumph Sprint to make way for it. I'm getting fed up with ridding around like my arse is on fire anyway.
