Having shipped by gs800 over to Majorca for the summer I now find the hot seaside climate is not what the Germans must be used to.

Some of the fasteners and engine casings are now showing signs of white corrosion ,the chain looks crap full of rust and pitted ( although it has been well lubricated). There are rust spots on the frame also !!!

Come on BMW get your act together my Harley Davidson VROD would have done better than this ( and sounded better too)

Anyone know who would stock a new DID chain and sprockets ? Does the standard excuse of a chain have a split link or not.

35,000 miles on mine now, used through last winter... no complaints

Ran mine all through last winter up here on Scotlands heavily gritted roads, plus I live right on the coast. No real issues with mine apart from a couple of Torx heads on the calipers and the end of the spokes going a bit brown.
And I hardly clean my bike at all!
